could the tapwater of my town be the reason my straw stuff has never ever ever fruited and sometimes even had not finished colonizing even with good moisture content and humidity and all the adequate stuff?? is it ok to mist with tap water?

Tap Water Question With Misting?

Are you using city water? That’s a good question too by the way.
Colonization takes time. With straw I like to wait anywhere from 10-14 days depending on temp. It wouldn't hurt to try a grow using another water source. I use tap water (well water - soft water) for hydrating my bulk subs and casing layer then I sterilize them. When I make Liquid Cultures I use purified water (RO/DI water). I also mist using purified water.
I'm sure most use tap water, but when I lived in town I could not use the water for my aquarium at all. The nitrates were sky high. The water quality was so pitiful I wouldn’t drink it or even cook with it. If your water is anything like that then anything is possible.
